Focus Enterprise is a business run by business people who have long experience in owning and managing their own organisations as well as operating as business development consultants. That experience has been honed through study and application,and members the Enterprises’ top team have successfully completed their Masters in Business Administration as well as undertaking Phd research in business support policies and Higher Education level teaching qualifications.

It is perhaps not surprising therefore that Enterprises delivers fully accredited modules covering business management, corporate finance, innovation and new product development for all kinds of businesses including social enterprises.

Self Employment support for those with disabilities

Enterprises brings together its knowledge and experience of supporting those with disabilities with the business consultancy skills of its team to help those with disabilities make the career choice of becoming self employed. Often this is the only viable employment option and so this powerful and enabling programme is carried out in partnership with a number of other charities and is carefully designed to complement the work of mainstream providers such as Business Link.

The Innovative Jobs Academy (IJA) - Supporting the long term unemployed

Focus Enterprises Limited has its own Innovative Jobs Academy which complements the work of Jobcentres in that it offers people defined as long term unemployed an opportunity to assess their skills, knowledge, interests and motivations leading to a new approach to getting a job and a fresh look at the type of job they want.

The programme offers:

Motivational Mapping.
This means we work with the client to find out what gets them going, what they would really like to do for a job and help them think more about how to get one that is right for them.

Personal Action Planning.
A ‘street-wise’ personal coach would be assigned to each client who would help them set personal goals and action plans so that they get to where they want to go.

Personal Development Agreements.
When a Personal Action Plan is agreed with the client then they sign it and so do we. This means the support package we are to provide and the customer’s commitment to it, is clear and understood.

Self Marketing.
We’ll help clients work out how best to present themselves, their skills, their knowledge and interests to prospective employers. We’ve even got our own recording studio so that customers can make DVDs and CDs about themselves and what they have to offer and present this through social media formats such as Facebook.

Work Experience.
We can arrange work experience so that the client can build up their CV and their confidence based on their new goals and action plans.
